One Woman One Midwife

ONE VISION - We want every woman in the UK from whatever background and socio-economic status to have the opportunity to choose their lead professional (midwife) and be provided with a maternity service built upon Choice, Information and Partnership.

To achieve this we have formed a group to campaign for government implementation of the Independent Midwives Association's (IMA) proposed 'NHS Community Midwifery Model'.

Why am I Independent?

Following the births of my own three children I became fascinated with pregnancy and childbirth and knew I had to be a Midwife.  I am always saddened when I meet women for whom birth was not the empowering, incredible experience it can and should be.  I am determined to do my best to rectify this

Experience

Having spent a few years working within the NHS I have  chosen to work independently as I believe this enables me to provide a more appropriate level of truly individualised care to women and their families.

Induction of Labour

I would like to draw your attention to an excellent article written by our colleagues at the Kent Midwifery Practice.
